Here is the thing (and I know I sound like a broken record): I am having a hard time finding a balance between work and marathon training. For the past three years I had a job where I was able to workout over my lunch hour, come in a little late if my morning run took longer than expected and was able to leave at 5pm every day. So because I am huge baby, it’s taking me longer than I expected to get used to working 10 hour days. Which is a ridiculous statement to make, considering most people work that or more.
Point of the story is: my training is SUCKING. I run 2 or 3 times a week, which is just not OK if you’re trying to train for marathon… and trying to run a PR marathon. My life, on the other hand, is not sucking. While I have not been running, I have been doing the following things during the last two weeks:
I skipped my long run while at the beach (I don’t know how you people run on vacation – I do not have that type of dedication) and ran a 12 mile LR last Saturday (as evidenced by the sweet pic above) to round out week 5. Sub par training.
At this point I believe I’m 13ish weeks away from NYC and I need to get it together! I keep saying it, but I really, really, REALLY need to start morning running. I find it nearly impossible to get home at 7pm and head out on a 6 mile run! Morning runners: Tell me your secrets!
